I have another gorgeous wedding to share with you all from KMI Photography today.  While yesterday’s wedding was a down home affair in Rose Hill, NC , today’s is pure beachy goodness on Bald Head Island. Can you even believe this is the same state?  So much varied beauty in the Carolinas, I love it!

Jessica and Rich chose Bald Head because the island held many special memories for them.  Rich’s parents have a home there and the couple has been vacationing there together for years.  The ceremony took place in the Bald Head Island Chapel.  I know I say this all the time on here, but seriously…there are few things I love more than a picture perfect, white Southern chapel.  Take said chapel and nestle it among some equally perfect live oaks and I’m a happy, happy girl. After the ceremony, the couple hosted guests for a reception at the Shoals Club.

From Jessica:
My mom and I did my hair and I found my dress at a thrift store in Maine. It was part of the Brides Against Breast Cancer.  All the centerpieces we used at the Shoals Club were handmade by my dad
.  Each one was a different lighthouse that Rich and I chose specifically because we had a personal connection with it.  The flowers were done by Brunswick Town Florist in Southport, the sandcastle cake was made by Crumb De La Crumb and the band was Ban Caribe. We really can not say enough about our amazing vendors!! Each one went way above and  beyond our highest expectations and made the whole process super easy and really fun instead of stressful!!

I fell head over heels for this Matthews House wedding the second I laid eyes on it. Captured by the super talented Sarah Seay, it features a fearless, vibrant color palette of hot pinks and turquoise, exotic peacock feathers and killer (I mean KILLER) footwear. It has a distinctively Ed Hardy/tropical vibe no?

LOVE it.  What a fun, fearless couple.  Thanks Sarah!  This has to be one of my fave White Thread couples ever.

I’m back with a simply beautiful real wedding from Martha ManningWe’ve heard how much Martha loves the Carolina Country Club but of course, because nothing speaks like pictures!

This wedding was all Raleigh through and through.  The St. Mary’s Chapel is just about as charming as they come and the Carolina Country Club played host to Julie + Russell’s reception.  Look at that cake!  If that doesn’t scream spring, I don’t know what does.  To celebrate their Carolina heritage, the couple gave out local peanuts.  And instead of the often seen sparkler send off (which really wouldn’t have worked for their daylight reception) the coupled opted for noisemakers for an equally festive end to their perfect day.

Thanks Martha!  Can’t wait for your next installment of Martha’s Top Six.

I have been wanting to feature a Graylyn Estate wedding on White Thread for a while now.   The locale is laden with history and its story is inextricably linked to that of the Winston-Salem area.  Plus it’s downright beautiful.

Just when I’d started to give up on finding just the right Graylyn wedding to share with you all, POOF!, photographer Crystal Genes drops an absolutely gorgeous one on me.  So excited to be featuring it today!

From Crystal:
When I first met with Carlton & Denise I knew that every detail of their wedding would be perfectly planned, very classic, and beautiful.  I was absolutely right!  The day was relaxed and flowed along so beautifully and stress-free.  The grounds of the Graylyn offered a gorgeous backdrop for the wedding day images.  The theme of the wedding was “Mint to be”.  They offered
guests signature mint mojitos and gave everyone a potted mint plant and mint tea bags to take home.  Guests found their seats at the reception by being assigned different street names.  The couple chose street names from their hometown that were significant to them – for example, the couple’s table was “Battleground Ave” which is where they had their first date.  During the beginning of the ceremony, bells were played by family to honor the passing of a close family member.  It was a beautiful and well thought out event all around!

Um…wow, I’ll say!  Bravo Denise and Carlton!  And with incredible images from Crystal to boot.

Maybe I’m just a hopeless romantic but I always love the intimate couple shots after the vows are exchanged.  The nerves have settled a bit and there’s an “OMG WE’RE MARRIED!” glow in the air.  Can’t you just see it in this next series of images?

The super talented Tara Mauldin has shared yet another gorgeous wedding!  Jen + Adam were married at the charming Victorian Crow’s Nest in Monroe, NC.  It proved to be the perfect, tucked away retreat for their intimate wedding with the ceremony taking place beneath the gazebo in the property’s garden.  I love that they kept the bridal party super streamlined – one maid of honor and one groomsmen, THAT’S IT!  Jen’s gorgeous gown is the Kyle style from Priscilla of Boston’s Vineyard Collection.

Adam’s family is from England and many, including his mom and sister made the trip over the pond to attend the big day.  As is customary for ladies at weddings, they both donned TO DIE FOR hats.  Seriously…why aren’t we (Americans) doing this?  There aren’t enough good reasons in life to wear a fabulous hat (Derby parties, Easter…?? I can’t think of any more!)

So simple and elegant, I love it!  Thank you Tara for sharing yet another wonderful event with White Thread.  And of course, thank you to the newlyweds for letting us share in your special day.
