I LOVE today’s real wedding! Captured by one of my absolute favorite people, Nancy Ray, it is small, intimate and personal and every image oozes love. Amanda + Edwin were married at the Raleigh Rose Garden, a location that I think is one of the more beautiful, yet underutilized in the Triangle.
True to its name, the Rose Garden is an explosion of rose color for several months of the year. I love that the staff has taken the time to document what the gardens look like throughout the year. This is an invaluable planning tool as inevitably, you’ll want to know what the garden you’re visiting in September will look like in June, for example. And boy does Mother Nature provide all the color and ceremony floral backdrop you could want! I love when nature helps us save a little $$ don’t you?
The second incredible thing about this wedding – Amanda’s mom made her wedding dress. And we’re not talking about a simple sheath here…this is a full out GOWN with ruched bodice and stunning embroidery throughout. WOW! I mean wow right?? My mom is a seamstress and having watched her work on many a gown, I can appreciate how long it must have taken Amanda’s mom to craft such a gorgeous dress. What a wonderful heirloom for Amanda!

Beautiful florals are by Bedford Blooms. Love those cute pomanders the bridesmaids are carrying!

What fun shots of the bride & groom! And how about their guests enjoying some post-ceremony moments with a game of bocce? What a thoughtful and fun way to keep gets entertained while they wait on you. I love that they took the extra time to think of this!

Reception festivities continued at Second Empire, the gorgeous historic home turned award winning restaurant & tavern in downtown Raleigh. I love this…just a wonderful meal with your closest friends and family in a great restaurant.

I hope you enjoyed this wedding as much as I did! It’s just so simple and pure and personal isn’t it? Be sure to check out even more images on Nancy’s blog. And a big thank you to Amanda + Edwin for letting us all share in such a special day. Congratulations!
