These pictures make me want to drop everything and run to the mountains like NOW.  The wonderful Martha Manning shared these images of a gorgeous Cashiers wedding that took place at the absolute peak of foliage season.  Look at those colors!

Jessica and Scott both live in Charlotte but their families are spread out all over the state.  With several family members having vacation homes in the Cashiers area, they settled on a a destination mountain wedding as the best way to bring their intimate group together.  The absolutely magical private community of Trillium played host to their nuptials.  With its charming Serenity Chapel on the property, it really could not be more perfect!

After the ceremony, the bride and groom drove around to some of their favorite mountain vistas for a few truly breathtaking images.

I LOVE today’s real wedding!  Captured by one of my absolute favorite people, Nancy Ray, it is small, intimate and personal and every image oozes love.  Amanda + Edwin were married at the Raleigh Rose Garden, a location that I think is one of the more beautiful, yet underutilized in the Triangle.

True to its name, the Rose Garden is an explosion of rose color for several months of the year.  I love that the staff has taken the time to document what the gardens look like throughout the year.  This is an invaluable planning tool as inevitably, you’ll want to know what the garden you’re visiting in September will look like in June, for example.  And boy does Mother Nature provide all the color and ceremony floral backdrop you could want!  I love when nature helps us save a little $$ don’t you?

The second incredible thing about this wedding – Amanda’s mom made her wedding dress.  And we’re not talking about a simple sheath here…this is a full out GOWN with ruched bodice and stunning embroidery throughout.  WOW!  I mean wow right??  My mom is a seamstress and having watched her work on many a gown, I can appreciate how long it must have taken Amanda’s mom to craft such a gorgeous dress.  What a wonderful heirloom for Amanda!

Beautiful florals are by Bedford Blooms.  Love those cute pomanders the bridesmaids are carrying!

What fun shots of the bride & groom!  And how about their guests enjoying some post-ceremony moments with a game of bocce?  What a thoughtful and fun way to keep gets entertained while they wait on you.  I love that they took the extra time to think of this!

Reception festivities continued at Second Empire, the gorgeous historic home turned award winning restaurant & tavern in downtown Raleigh.  I love this…just a wonderful meal with your closest friends and family in a great restaurant.

I hope you enjoyed this wedding as much as I did!  It’s just so simple and pure and personal isn’t it?  Be sure to check out even more images on Nancy’s blog.  And a big thank you to Amanda + Edwin for letting us all share in such a special day.  Congratulations!

Today’s wedding is so full of happy color, it is an absolute feast for the eyes.  And while bright pinks and oranges might not seem like the most fall like images to share, I’m keenly aware that many of you are deep into planning spring and summer affairs for next year.   This one’s for you!

The awesome Tara Mauldin was on hand to capture all of the details of Sallie and Marc’s wedding which took place at the Ballantyne Resort. Beautiful ballrooms, sweeping staircases and gorgeous grounds all combine to make this a wonderful location for a wedding.  Sallie is utter perfection in that Lazaro gown.  I LOVE her hair.  So fresh and soft.

OK, have you ever seen anything so precious?  I can not get over this flurry of flower girls with their perfectly coordinated tutus!  Coming down the aisle with those oversized paper magnolias (kits from Paper Source), they are gorgeous.  Stunning florals by Todd Crawford of Crawford & Company completed this picture perfect day.

I’m back with more images from this magical wedding!  Get yourself up to date by checking out the first post.

After a few must-take signature images in front of the Fearrington’s handsome silo, Kelsey and James joined their guests at the historic barn for cocktails and a dinner reception.  The barn always looks so romantic with those twinkle lights but Abigail seems to have a special touch for capturing its charm.

Guests (canine and human alike) were treated to favors.  I LOVE those adorable Galloway Cow inspired cookies!

*Sigh*  Beautiful right?  I have no words to describe those last two images.  The only thing that comes to mind is PERFECTION.

Abigail you are amazing!  Thank you for sharing this wedding with us.   I can hardly wait to feature more of Abigail’s work with you guys here on White Thread.  The only hard part is selecting among the many incredible images!  And of course let’s not forget Kelsey and James.  Congratulations and thank you for letting us “ooh” and “aah” over every beautiful image of your wedding day!
