Take your breath away gorgeous.  That is the only way to describe this series of images sent to me by the fantastic Crystal Genes.

Newlyweds Emily + Pete had already been married a few weeks when they contacted Crystal about scheduling one last “hurrah” before packing away the wedding dress.  Having been plagued by rain on their actual wedding day, this was the perfect opportunity to capture all those incredible outdoor shots they didn’t quite make happen on the day of.  And for a couple of adventurous, rock climbing, outdoor lovers, Hanging Rock State Park proved to be the perfect backdrop.

From Crystal:
We originally planned to shoot about a mile from Beacon Heights.  After researching a bit, we discovered that the autumn leaves had already mostly fallen by the week of the session.  So, we went for Plan B and headed up to Hanging Rock State Park in Danbury, NC.  The leaves were still quite colorful and the location was just as gorgeous, if not more dramatic!  Believe it or not, there were dozens of onlookers all around during the whole shoot.  The couple made everyone queasy with how freely they posed on the edges of these high rocks.”

Don’t you looooooove Emily’s dress?  It’s a strapless version of this Mia Solano gown.  It looks so different strapless.  Let that be a lesson to you all!  Don’t be afraid to ask for small modifications to a dress if it’s just a wee bit shy of perfection.

Seriously, if this doesn’t make you want to run out and get married in the mountains, I don’t know what will.  Someone put these 2 in an ad for Western NC weddings please!

Thank you so much Crystal for sharing these spectacular photos with White Thread.  I know the couple will cherish them forever!

Aaah, the luxury of a day time wedding.  After a festive reception at the Shoals Club, Jessica + Rich changed into some comfier clothes (Jessica’s dress was made by one very talented friend) and took to the sand with Kevin & Lauren of KMI Photography.  The result is so carefree, beautiful and love-filled it hurts!  They have to be SO happy they seized the opportunity to capture these timeless images…I know I am!

Phew!  It has been a KMI kinda (couple) of days.  I love when I’m able to feature back to back gorgeous weddings from one talented photographer.  I think it does so much to help you see their true style and how they work in multiple and varied settings with different couples, different light, etc.  Hope you agree!  Thank you to Lauren and Kevin for sharing all of this incredible work.  I hope to have you back on White Thread soon.

The fab-u-lous Stephanie of Indigo Photography shared this gorgeous “after” session she did for couple Emily & Tommy about a year after their big day.  Typically, these take place the day (or days) after the wedding, but I sort of love the idea of doing it around your one year anniversary.  What a fun way to relive the special day and celebrate your love together.

From Stephanie:

The wedding day goes by so quickly and you usually only have about 20 to 30 minutes in between the ceremony and the reception to do some fun shots of the wedding party along with some of the couple.  If it’s a beautiful setting, like where Emily & Tommy got married, you always wish you had more time to take more photos.  That’s why after sessions are fun, and a good excuse to wear your wedding dress again! The couple is so much more relaxed and time is on our side.  If it’s a destination wedding, I really encourage the couple to do a day after session just so we can take advantage of our surroundings.  But you don’t have to be in Jamaica or Puerto Rico to do an after session.  In Emily & Tommy’s case, Emily found a really cool mill in Greensboro, NC to the shoot.

Cool indeed!  Take a look at these shots.  Loving the muted, vintage goodness here.

These are my FAVORITE!  Who knew an old general store could be so hot?

So great right?  Thank you Stephanie for letting us do this fun feature…a different twist from the real weddings I normally do!  You must get yourself over to Stephanie’s blog and check out more of her work.  So many gorgeous Carolina weddings…LOVE!!

And because I just can’t resist a wedding, stay tuned for Emily + Tommy’s real wedding feature coming up in a bit.
