Romona Keveza’s designs are always the embodiment of elegance and romantic, timeless beauty. This season was certainly no exception as I couldn’t find one dress I didn’t absolutely love. See more via Brooklyn Bride.

Bridal Fashion Week is just about wrapping up in New York City and I for one can’t get enough of all the sneak peaks from the runway. Having attended last fall, I can attest to how exciting the whirlwind of beautiful dresses are first hand. And while family commitments kept me from being their this year, Twitter updates from around the city were the next best thing.
Well lucky for me (and you!) my friend and resident bridal fashionista, Jessica Fox agreed to be White Thread’s bridal fashion week liaison. She buzzed around the city, press pass in hand, snapping pics of the hottest dresses and is guest blogging today on her favorite trends from this season.
Jessica is the former owner of Promise…for the Savvy Bride in Bethesda, MD. For years she outfitted chic, modern brides in couture dresses. Currently, she handles wholesale accounts for a bridal designer based in Beverly Hills, authors her own wedding and life blog, A Foxy Wedding and continues to offer brides her wedding expertise through her day-of bridal dressing service, Hustle Your Bustle. Phew! When does sleep factor in I wonder? Either way I’m so excited to have her on White Thread today!
Thank you for inviting me over to White Thread, Dina! Some of the Spring 2010 collections I viewed at bridal market were among my most favored ever, purely for the reason that some of the trends are right up my dramatic gown-loving alley. Seeing the collections not as a buyer for a bridal salon but as a member of the press was an amazing experience! Of course, my buyer’s eye couldn’t help but creep in as I saw each collection! Overall trends I noticed were soft color, flowers, feminine asymmetrical necklines, tulle, ruffles, feathers, belts, lush draping, and a return to the traditional full skirted silhouette. Sometimes, these trends appeared all together in one gown! An emphasis on grace, movement, and gowns that deliver impact from both the front and the back were everywhere.

I couldn’t agree more Jessica! Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your insights with White Thread. What a treat! I’ll be featuring lots more of my favorite hits (and misses) from this season over the next few days. Stay tuned!
Back as promised with more images from this beautiful wedding. Catch up with vol. I.
It’s hard to beat this setting among the lush golf greens with the Colleton River in the distance. And don’t you love the simple touch or adorning the final row of ceremony chairs? What a great way to add color and a bit of design flair for a totally minimal investment.

After the ceremony, festivities continued inside the clubhouse where guests found their way to tables named after various nautical knots. Clever uses of color and rope carried the theme throughout. The anchor motif reappeared in the form of a cake topper and cupcake adornments. Again all simple touches that add up to a really put together look.

What a treat it has been to feature this wedding! I could (and did) stare at all of Richard’s images for hours. If you aren’t yet convinced, get yourself over to his website and I assure you, you’ll soon be as obsessed as I am.
And to Lindsey & Stephen – it has been a pleasure and privilege to feature you on White Thread. Congratulations!
I should probably disclose up front – today’s real wedding features a bride so beautiful, I found myself completely unable to edit down which images of her I should share with you…so there are lots. But you’ll see what I mean! Full blame credit goes to Richard Israel for making this editing so hard. Richard shoots in 100% film and I have to say, after spending lots of time on his blog (which I suggest you do immediately), I am totally in love. Every picture is more beautiful than the last and there is a warmth and timelessness to each that defies words.
Lucky Lindsey + Stephen had him on hand to capture their absolutely picture perfect wedding at the Colleton River Plantation just outside of Hilton Head. I am loving the nod to all things nautical while keeping the color palette a fresh and unpredictable array of purples.

OK seriously…how gorgeous are these pictures?! Lindsey is just downright stunning in her dress and chic birdcage veil. And the flowers!!! So amazing, I can’t stand it.

WARNING: It would be a good idea to have some tissue on hand before looking at these next images. They are dripping with emotion and an incredible keepsake of a timeless moment – a daughter and father exchange thoughts and tears before the big moment while mom looks on and swells with happiness. These are literally some of my favorite wedding pictures EVER and you just know they will be cherished by this family for generations.

Back in a flash with more gorgeous images from the ceremony and reception.
My apologies for the late post today. It has been a bit of a whirlwind weekend full of last minute flying and driving. My husband’s grandmother passed away suddenly this Friday past. Just two months shy of her 90th birthday, she was a force to be reckoned with to the very end. Ever the indomitable matriarch of the family, she was sharp, warm, kind and made the world’s most incredible pies. In a nutshell, she was the perfect grandmother and she will be dearly, dearly missed by all who have ever known her.
While it’s sad that it took her death to bring her dozen grandchildren, three sons, daughter and innumerable friends together, we all enjoyed sharing and listening to stories of this remarkable woman’s life all weekend long. Hours were spent going through shoe boxes filled with her incredible photographs that spanned not just her own history, but that of our nation. There were young girls in front of Model T’s, young men in foreign lands during WWII, pill box hats, bouffant hair and dozens and dozens of summers spent on Cape Cod. It was in every sense a celebration of her life and I couldn’t help but think how truly happy she would have been to have everyone together like that. I am blessed to have known her and thought it only fitting to share the image below – her wedding day in 1948.
I’ll be back tomorrow…maybe a little late as I get back into the swing of things, but I will be back!
